How to get unstuck.

I'm going off of a complete hunch here, but I have to imagine that I'm not the only one who has felt stuck at one point or another this past year.

 

Being stuck, well, sucks.

 

For me, it seems like my world is frozen is around me. I don't know where to go next. I find myself tirelessly searching in all of the wrong places for things that don't seem to satisfy praying that I'll just magically figure it all out.

 

So, here I am to tell you, that if this sounds like YOU too, I feel ya.

 

I've felt "stuck" numerous times in my life, but I've also made it through and have found relief and momentum after a period of being totally unsatisfied and straight up lost in my life.

 

Since my aim is always to encourage and equip, I want to give you 5 ways that have helped me & will help you to get "unstuck".

 

Here goes!


#1 Be honest with yourself

So you're stuck. It's okay. You WILL come out of this stronger, more capable, more humble, and more refined. Allow yourself to honestly admit to yoursef that you're not totally stoked on where your life stands in this very moment.

But hey, let's not stay there for too long.

Read on, sister . . .

 

#2 Recognize where you are

Along with acceptance comes the choice to look at your life head on. What does your life look like right now? What is NOT working? Identify the areas of your life in which you feel stuck. Is it your finances? Your attitude? Your career? Your marriage? Are you feeling alone? Are you spiritually dry?

Write them down.

 

#3 Decide where you want to be

Let's dream big for a minute .  . .

If Oprah were to follow you for one day, in your dream life what would you want her to see? Where would you be living? What time would you want to wake up? What would you be wearing? Who would you be surrounded by? What people would she have to meet? Where would you go from the time you woke up to the time you fell asleep? What would you eat throughout the day? How would your attitude be? What types of activities would you be doing? What would you be proud to show her?

 

#4 Create a plan

Take a deep look at your answers to #2 and you answers to #3. What isn't matching up? What do you desire that isn't quite there yet? What changes do you need to make?

What one SMALL thing can you do today to get you closer to the life that you want to create?

 

#5 Just do something

One of the words that God has given me this year is 'do it'. And I am believing it! Sometimes we just have to put one foot in front of the other even if it feels like we are going absolutely no where. Trust that God has a perfect plan for you. There's something to be said for making moves, even if you're not 100% sure that they're the right ones. 

 

So my question for you : what ONE thing will you commit to today to make a change in your life?
